Courageous Advocacy
Have a look at all the exciting activities we take part in to help improve our school and local community.
During their topic about World war I, Year 5 learnt about the heroic contribution made by Walter Tull to the war effort. Walter was the first ever black British Army Officer. Year 5 felt very strongly that he should have been awarded the Military Cross. This is a medal that is awarded for an act or acts of exemplary gallantry during active operations against the enemy on land. Our Year 5 children wanted their opinions to be known by somebody who might be able to influence Parliament to award Walter Tull the Military Cross posthumously. They therefore wrote to our local MP, Marcus Jones. Here are some examples of their letters and a reply to the class from Marcus Jones.

Aid2Africa
The children at All Saints C of E Primary School and Nursery have been collecting 1p and 2p coins to raise money for children in Africa to go on a school trip – Aid2Africa. The children at the school have fundraised each year through film nights- this money is then given to Peter Wrigley who leads the Aid2Africa charity which is linked to All Saints Church. The school community at Waymarks Education Centre, Moi’s Bridge, Kenya will be able to use this funding to enhance the curriculum for these children through trips and resources.
